Julia Kramer, Alan Zhang and Sonia Travaglini Win Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor Award

Mail AttachmentBESTies Julia Kramer (GSI in ME292C Human-Centered Design Methods), Alan Zhang (GSI  in E27 Manufacturing and Tolerancing) and Sonia Travaglini (GSI for Eng 295 Technical Communication, Fung Institute for Engineering Leadership)  have all won the Outstanding GSI Award. The Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor (OGSI) Award honors over 200 UC Berkeley GSIs each year for their outstanding work in the teaching of undergraduates. These OGSI recipients are nominated from within their teaching department. The GSI Teaching & Resource Center gives the award recipients certificates of distinction and a celebratory ceremony in the spring. In addition, currently enrolled graduate students who receive the OGSI award will receive a $250 stipend sponsored by the Dean of the Graduate Division, to applaud outstanding GSIs.

The award ceremony took place on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at the Chevron Auditorium at UC Berkeley’s International House (feature image above). See (left to right) Alan Zhang, Alice M. Agogino, and Sonia Travaglini at the award ceremony. Julia Kramer was not able to attend due to travel.
