Iceland 2006

Flew into Reykjavik for an Operations Research conference; traveled around the country by car afterwards. Picture with my son Adrian and a statue of the first Viking settler (left). My husband Dale and I pose in one of the many sculptures that populate Iceland.

Adrian at one of the many regional folk and Viking museums (left); Arianne, Mercedes and Adrian at one of the many Geysers in Iceland (right).

Adrian at one of the glaciers in central Iceland (left); Mercedes, soon after her 80th birthday, joined us for the hike (right).

The Little Stroker Geyser (left); Little Stroker erupting (right). Iceland is almost self-sufficient from hydroelectric, geyser and wind energy.

Iceland has many beautiful waterfalls. Gulfoss is one of the largest; Arianne in front of Gulfoss (left).

Seljalandsfoss waterfall from the front (left); and behind (right).
